HOW TO PLAY
GAME PLAY AND SCORING

Each player selects the card he wishes to play and then both players lay them opposite each other to see if their respective punches have landed, as shown in the illustration below.

PLAYER B
card #2
PLAYER B selects card #2, a JAB,
leaving himself open for a LEFT BODY punch.

card #9
PLAYER A
PLAYER A selects card #9, a LEFT BODY punch,
leaving himself open for a RIGHT BODY punch.

In this exchange, PLAYER A "matched" the punch he is throwing with the punch that PLAYER B could be hit by. The result of this exchange finds PLAYER A "landing" his LEFT BODY punch, scoring two (2) points. The points are entered on the scorecard as shown below:

Each player then sets aside the card they have just played face down and then select another.

PLAYER B
card #7
PLAYER B selects card #7, a (red) JAB,
leaving himself open for a LEFT BODY punch and a LEFT HOOK.

card #6
PLAYER A
PLAYER A selects card #6, a (green) JAB,
leaving himself open for a JAB and a RIGHT CROSS.

In this example, PLAYER B "matched" the punch he is throwing with the punch that PLAYER A could be hit by. The result of this exchange finds PLAYER B "landing" his JAB, scoring one (1) point.

In this particular exchange, note that while both players selected the same type of punch, PLAYER B selected and "landed" with a Jab with more power behind it, hence the difference in the color of the Jabs.

Remember, it is the type of punch that must match to score points; the color difference only signifies the degree of power behind it. This applies not only to the Jabs, but to the Left Hooks and the Right Crosses as well.

Illus2

Again, each player sets aside the card they have just played face down and then select another.

PLAYER B
card #21
PLAYER B selects card #21, a (black) RIGHT CROSS,
leaving himself open for a RIGHT BODY punch
and a COMBINATION.

card #11
PLAYER A
PLAYER A selects card #11, a LEFT BODY punch,
leaving himself open for a RIGHT BODY punch
and a LEFT HOOK.

In this exchange, neither player has matched their punch, therefore no points are scored and no entries on the scorecard are necessary.

The players set aside the card they have just played face down and then select another.

PLAYER B
card #13
PLAYER B selects card #13, a RIGHT BODY punch,
leaving himself open for a JAB and a COMBINATION.

card #17
PLAYER A
PLAYER A selects card #17, a COMBINATION,
leaving himself open for a JAB and a RIGHT BODY punch.

In this exchange, both players have matched their punches. PLAYER B "landed" his RIGHT BODY punch, scoring two (2) points, while PLAYER A "landed" his COMBINATION, scoring two and one half (2 1/2) points. The points are entered on the scorecard as shown below:
