HOW TO PLAY
The object of the game is to defeat your opponent via Knockout or Technical Knockout, or via Unanimous, Majority or Split Decision.

Each deck consists of the following 21 color-coded cards:

6 JAB's worth 1/2 point
2 JAB's worth 1 point
3 LEFT BODY punches worth 2 points
3 RIGHT BODY punches worth 2 points
3 COMBINATION's worth 2 1/2 points
1 LEFT HOOK worth 3 points
1 (black) LEFT HOOK worth 3 points / 5 points for a Knockdown
1 RIGHT CROSS worth 3 points
1 (black) RIGHT CROSS worth 3 points / 5 points for a Knockdown

Pictured left are three of the cards that appear in each deck. On the upper left of each is a description of one type of punch, while on the lower right there are one or two types of punches.

The punch on the upper left is the punch that is being thrown. Each punch has a specific point value which can be found on the Scoring Index card illustrated above.

The punch or punches on the lower right are those that you may be hit by. This portion of the card reflects the player’s “positioning” and, therefore, what he is open to.

Punches are “landed” and points are scored when a player matches the punch he is throwing with the punch or any of the two punches his opponent may be hit by.

The number found on the bottom left inside the boxing glove is the card number. The numbers on the upper right enclosed in the clock face simulates the time in seconds that elapse during a round with the playing of that card. They are used to determine the official time that a Technical Knockout, Knockout or Knockdown has occurred.
THE SCORESHEET

Illus1

Illustrated above is an example of how the scoresheet is to be filled out prior to the start of play. Entered in the spaces on the upper left are the player’s names (in this case, PLAYER B and PLAYER A), and again in the space under the “NAME” heading, with PLAYER B entered on the line and PLAYER A just below it.

To the right, the headings “ROUNDS” and “POINT MARGIN” appear, along with a space next to each. “ROUNDS” refers to the scheduled length of a bout (a “round” in the game consisting of selecting, playing and then discarding all 21 cards in the deck). “POINT MARGIN” refers to the number of fight points one player must get ahead of his opponent over the course of the bout to win via Technical Knockout.

In the graphic below, note that each number under the heading “ROUNDS” is accompanied by a corresponding number under the heading “POINT MARGIN”, which is divided into the 6 and 8 ounce gloves categories.

By selecting the number of Rounds the bout is to be scheduled for and the glove size to be used (6 or 8 ounces), the players automatically determine the Point Margin for the bout.

In our example, PLAYER A and PLAYER B have agreed to meet in a 10 Round bout with 8 ounce gloves, thus setting the Point Margin at 15, with the entries made in the appropriate spaces.

Simply put, this means that at any time over the course of the ten rounds one player’s lead in fight points over his opponent equals or exceeds the 15 Point Margin designated for the bout, the game is over and that player is awarded a Technical Knockout.

Once this portion of the scoresheet has been completed, play begins as follows.
