That man on the left (in a photo gleaned from the files of Scotland Yard), is none other than the UK’s favorite son, the adopted Darling of Pittsburgh, PA, USA and "LONDON CALLING" host and author, Andrew J. Keen, with a face that downed a thousand pints ... and a smile to prove it.
Born on September 27th back when Halley’s Comet was just a snowball, Andy is originally from Charlton, South London, and currently resides in Bexleyheath, Kent. He enjoys boxing, soccer, reading British and American history, and anything that challenges the brain, such as combining the use of knife and fork or watching "Wheel Of Fortune" ... Boxers he enjoys watching are early Tyson and Chavez, Ray Mancini, Alexis Arguello, Ali, Hagler, Hearns and Duran. Holyfield’s heart gets him in "Keen‘s Top Five", and his ear in his Top Three. Needless to say, he is quite proud of fellow countryman Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton, Manchester native and current Jr. Welterweight contender. A former STRATEGY BOXING British Heavyweight Champion and one time SBA International Heavyweight titleist, Andy has eased himself into semi-retirement as a result of one too many tabletop wars and career threatening paper cuts. Recently, in a move unprecedented in SBA history, Andy (photo right) actually challenges himself to get into the ring! Yet despite all of these international shenanigans, he remains one of my dearest and most cherised friends! |
