Pictured to the left are two of the cards that appear in each deck.
On the upper left of each card is a description of one type of punch,
while in the lower right there are one or two types of punches. The
punch on the upper left is the punch that is being thrown. Each has
a specific point value, with the "heavier" punch being worth more.
The punch or punches on the lower right are those you may be hit by.
These reflect the player's positioning and therefore what he is "open"
to. Punches are landed and points are scored when a player "matches" the
punch he is throwing with the punch or punches his opponent may be hit by.
The number found on the bottom left inside the boxing glove is the card number, making reference to a particular card somewhat easier. The number on the upper right enclosed in the clock face represents the time in seconds that elapse in a round during the playing of that card. Their significance is to determine the time at which a Knockdown, Knockout or Technical Knockout has occurred. |
|
Once the Referee signals the bout to begin, players select and compare cards
to see if their respective punches have landed. When all 21 cards have been played,
the round is over ... providing it goes that far  !
There are Knockdowns, Knockouts and TKO's and, should the bout "go the distance," the innovative judging/scoring system accurately (and impartially!) determines who wins ... and who goes back to the gym!
